DR MUNGO PARK:
Was a medical doctor who was said to have discovered the river Niger (the British can lie). People at Onitsha for example have been living near this river we call osimili (great river) for centuries before Mungo Park was born. How come he discovered this great river known to us for thousands of years?
Dr Mungo Park was born on the 11th of September 1771 in Scotland, United Kingdom of Great Britain.
In 1791 he graduated as a medical doctor from the university of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
He was apparently the first European to explore the course of the River Niger from 1795 to 1796.
He was killed by angry villagers at the age of 35 in 1806 in a placed named Bussa in present Northern Nigeria.
