The Chairman/CEO of Capital Oil and FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Dr. Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah yesterday said his company is to spend over $300 million on the FC Ifeanyi Ubah international Games Village in Nnewi.
Addressing newsmen after Governor Willie Obiano’s inspection of facilities at the Games Village in Nnewi, Ubah said when completed, the Games Village will employ over 5000 Anambrarians.
The Games Village, he further said would contain two football stadia with multiple Training Pitches, Industrial Park, Hospital, sports academy, Technology Hub, 5 Star Hotel, Conference Center and Women and Youth Development Center.
It will also boast of an Indoor Sports Hall, Shopping Malls , Residential Housing/Estates, Corporate office complex, Linguistic School , Police Post and Fire Service Station amongst other facilities.
He also disclosed that he is buying a foreign club based in Israel but did not disclose the name of the club, adding that his group has made some payments.
His words: ‘’I am partnering with a foreign club. We are buying a club in Israel and we have just made some payments. We will announce our European partners in two weeks time. We will be having European friendly matches soon. We want to act sharply before we go to London.
"With the above facilities in place, Anambra would be the toast of Nigeria and the world, attracting people from all over the world to our state while taking Anambrarians to the world through sports and tourism to mention but a few’’.
The Chairman of the Anambra Warriors further said that a solid foundation has been laid to guarantee sustainability of the club, even as it has been re-positioned to make indelible marks in the nation's football.
''We are funding one of the privately owned Nigeria Premiership League clubs and our desire is to make a meaningful impact this season with a continental ticket.
"We have long identified the need to use sports as a veritable instrument of unity and economic vehicle to uplifting our teeming youths.'' He concluded.
