Setting Up MTN BIS To Work On Android Phones

First and foremost, you have to configure your phone internet settings to be able to work with the simple server application.

==> Go to settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Tap to edit the settings you want using the following parameters;

Name : Any name u like
APN : web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
Proxy : 127.0.0.1
Port : 8080
Username : web
Password : web
Now, save the settings.

==> Navigate to your simple server application. If you haven’t downloaded it, you can download here, and configure as thus;

Listen Port : 8080
Proxy Host : 10.199.212.2
proxy Port : 8080
Enable or disable Proxy is ticked
Injection Method : GET
Injection Query/URL : http://web.blackberry.com
Injection Host : web.blackberry.com
Injection line : Press enter button 4 times and tap on OK
Enable or disable injection is ticked
Log level : Debug

Now, before you tap on the start button on Simple Server, make sure you have subscribed to MTN BIS plan. You can test run using the daily plan by texting BBCDAY to 21600 and N100 will be deducted from your account balance. When successfully subscribed, Tap on start on the simple server app. Immediately it starts reading, it means it has successfully connected. Now try using and you should confirm it working.

Setting Up MTN BIS To Work On Computer

==> Download simple server software from HERE (make sure to untick Use our download manager and get recommended downloads before downloading).
==> Extract the downloaded file into any folder on your computer and run the simpler servers.exe file.
==> Make sure you have subscribed to MTN BIS plan and configure your modem internet settings using the following parameters;

Name: anyname you like
APN : web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
Username and Password : web
Now save and navigate to which ever browser you use. Set the browser connection settings to proxy as 127.0.0.1 and port as 8080.
Connect your modem, connect your simple server and start browsing on your computer using MTN BIS.
