My dear Port Harcourt people. Did you know that the name of your state of Origin was Ugwuocha ('White cliff' in Igbo language) and Obumotu ('We are one' in Igbo language) ?? Did you know that your ancestors were Igbo? Now you say you are not Igbo. Chaii. ALU.!!! Did you know that 'Port Harcourt' was named after Mr Lewis V. Harcourt?
Ugwuocha/Obumotu where Igbo towns that harboured the Seaport from which the British transported "Coal' from Enugwu to Britain. But in the British cultural attitude of disdain for African names, instead of naming the port 'Port Ugwuocha', Frederick Lugard, the 1914 architect of Nigeria, decided to name it after one of his compatriots, Lewis V. Harcourt, who was then the Secretary of State for the Colonies.
Knowledge is power my people. Read and know your roots or risk being a victim of the 'De-Igbonisation' project (Disorganization of the Igbo people) that was instituted in Nigeria by the British.
Please every true Igbo should share this post.. Thank you.
